Maritime Law Resources: Marine Terrorism/Piracy

This LibGuide will assist researchers in conducting Maritime Law research in NCCU School of Law's Library.

Marine Terrorism and Piracy

The US has increased its focus on marine security since 9/11.  Much of this focus is on securing U.S. ports.  However, focus hasn't only been on protecting US soil and vessels.  In the past few years, incidents of piracy have increased dramatically as pirates from failed states such as Somalia have turned to targeting and attacking commercial and personal vessels.  The US and the global marine security community are working together to find solutions to this modern day pirate problem.

The materials listed below will assist researchers in locating information about marine terrorism and piracy.
