The Law Library's first floor houses long tables and smaller tables, for individual or collaborative study, where students are allowed to talk and interact with each other. The study area's floor-to-ceiling windows flood the room with natural light.
Moveable whiteboards make it easy to lay out ideas while studying. You may check out an available whiteboard from the Service Desk.
The second floor is the library's silent study area. Here you will find individual study carrels, study pods, seating and tables in different configurations, moveable white boards, and the law library's seven (7) study rooms. You must make a reservation to use a study room. All reserved study spaces are available for a maximum of three (3) hours per day and may be reserved up to 24 hours in advance.
When filling out your reservation, please list the names and emails of the additional students in the appropriate space on the reservation form. To reserve a study room, click here to access the resource scheduler. Students are encouraged to wear masks when study rooms are utilized by two or more persons. When studying in groups, wearing a mask is the number one way to prevent and reduce infection.

Library tables, located on both the first and second floor of the Law Library, and library carrels and study pods on the second floor, are available on a first come, first served basis. Students are not permitted to "reserve" library spaces with their belongings. All books and other property must be removed when you are not actively using a study space (carrel, seat, table, etc.).
All library study rooms are available through the library's reservation system. Students may reserve library spaces on a first come, first served basis up to 24 hours in advance. You must make a reservation to study in a study room.
Please inquire at the circulation desk, or email us at lawlibrary@nccu.edu if you have any issues using the system.
Once you have submitted your booking, you will receive a confirmation email with a check in code. You will need this code to check in to your room when you arrive.
When you arrive at the library, find your reserved space. All library study rooms are labeled. Please note that the second floor of the Law Library is actually the third floor of the Law School building. When you arrive at your space, make sure to check in by either scanning the QR code at the space itself, or clicking on the link in your confirmation email and filling in the code provided in the email.
To check out before you leave, scan the QR code again or click on the link in your confirmation email. This will take you back to the Check In page. Enter your 3 digit code again, and it will then give you the option to check out. Alternatively, if you use the link in your email to check in, you can leave the page up in the browser of your computer or mobile device and the option to check out will be accessible from that page after you've checked in.
