Maritime Law Resources: Home

This LibGuide will assist researchers in conducting Maritime Law research in NCCU School of Law's Library.

Ahoy and Welcome Aboard

Maritime Law (or Admiralty Law) is one of the oldest bodies of law in the world.  Since humans took to the water to transport themselves and goods, there have been rules used to settle disputes arising out of those movements.  These rules have evolved throughout the years to now encompass a large body of law including statutes, regulations, and judicial decisions.  This area of law also touches upon rules governing contracts, torts, workers compensation, and environmental catastrophe to name a few.  This guide has been developed to provide researchers with an introduction to the resources they will use in conducting Maritime Law research and is keyed to the NCCU School of Law Library.
