Staff Directions

Charging/Checking Out

  • Open Workflows and go to the check out screen in the Circulation Module
  • Input patron ID into workflows
  • Open StaffLink on the computer desktop and go to Check out
  • Place all items to be checked out on the pad next to the computer
  • Check StaffLink to make sure all items were checked out. If items do not check out in SIRSI, check StaffLink. You may see the items listed under In Process. Click the Resume button to process these items.
  • Items will be desensitized automatically and will not set off the door alarms

Discharging/Checking In

  • Open StaffLink and Workflows
  • Go to Discharge in Workflows. Please note that Fine Free Discharge does not work with StaffLink or the Envisionware pad.
  • Place all items to be checked back in on the pad
  • Items will automatically check in and re-sensitize
  • Do NOT scan items into Workflows directly

NOTE: Items may also end up in the “In Process” queue in StaffLink if there is a pop-up in Workflows that needs your attention. Clear the pop-up, and then click resume and the item should then be clear to check out or check in.

Self-Checkout Machine - Directions for Staff

General

  • PC power button on the back of the machine
  • Turn off keyboard when not using
  • FN + ALT keys to exit out of the software

Printer Jam

  • Turn the key underneath the screen to unlock the machine.
  • Lift the screen up
  • Pull the cartridge head down
  • Push the button to the right to back up the printer paper
  • Clear the jam, then push the cartridge head back in
  • Feed the paper back into the slot from above until the machine grabs it
  • Press the test button to make sure everything is working.
  • Close the machine and lock it again. (Leave key in the machine)
  • DO NOT CLOSE the screen before ensuring the printer cartridge head is pushed back in or the screen lowering will damage the printer.

Adding New Paper

  • Follow the same directions above through lowering the cartridge head
  • Remove the empty paper roll.
  • DO NOT throw away the holder!
  • Add new paper to the holder.
  • Snap the holder back into place, lift the cartridge head back up and feed the paper in.

Self-Checkout Machine - Directions for Patrons

Patrons can use the Self-Checkout Machine to check out, discharge and renew their own items. Use the following directions to help a patron if they need assistance.

Directions

  • Scan patron ID Card or type in Banner ID number
  • Choose correct option from the screen (check out, discharge, renew, etc.)
  • Place ALL items on the pad beneath the screen at the same time. All items will be checked out.
  • If checking items out, patron will receive a pop-up note on the screen and on their printed receipt if any items were unable to be checked out. They will be directed to the Service Desk for help with these items.
  • Patrons may receive a "reposition" message if their items are not on the pad correctly. Just move the items to ensure they are all on the pad so the machine can read the tag inside the back cover.
  • Patrons may also access "My Account" from this screen to view overdue information or renew items.
