Below are selected resources which provide statistical background to elections and voting rights. These resources provide researchers great place to start researching. 

U.S. Census The Census Bureau's mission is to serve as the nation’s leading provider of quality data about its people and economy.

  • Voting and Registrations - For every national election since 1964, the Census Bureau has collected data on the characteristics of American voters. Find out how many citizens of voting age are registered, and how many vote, by age and sex, race and ethnicity, and more.

FEC The Federal Election Commission (FEC) is the independent regulatory agency charged with administering and enforcing the federal campaign finance law. The FEC has jurisdiction over the financing of campaigns for the U.S. House, Senate, Presidency and the Vice Presidency.

Pew Research Center Pew Research Center is a nonpartisan fact tank that informs the public about the issues, attitudes and trends shaping the world. Pew Research Center conduct public opinion polling, demographic research, content analysis and other data-driven social science research. Pew Research Center does not take policy positions.

North Carolina State Board of Elections The North Carolina State Board of Elections (NCSBE) is the state agency charged with the administration of the elections process and campaign finance disclosure and compliance.

Gallup  Gallup is a global analytics and advisory firm. 

UF Election Lab The Election Lab at the University of Florida is a collaboration of faculty and students who study voting and elections through analyses of survey and election data. The mission of the UF Election Lab is to provide timely and accurate statistics, software, reports, and other useful information, primarily regarding voting and elections in the United States.
