Bar Exam Preparation Materials

This guide outlines bar exam preparation materials available to NCCU law students.

The Multistate Essay Exam (MEE)

Most state's bar exams have an essay portion. North Carolina has a six-hour essay section (weighted 60%) with exam questions specifically directed at North Carolina law (sample questions and answers are available on the NC Board of Law Examiner’s website). Other states follow a similar pattern, but some supplement the jurisdiction-specific essay exam with the Multistate Essay Exam (MEE), a three-hour, six-question essay exam with standardized questions developed by the National Conference of Bar Examiners.  The resources listed below give guidance on essay exam topics and essay exam writing strategies.
