How to Get Help

Ask a Law Librarian

Professional dual-degreed librarians (law and library science) are available to assist students and faculty with the location of information and efficient use of print and electronic resources. The Law Library provides reference services via NCCU Law Library FAQ, email, text, phone, and by appointment. Please note that the librarians are not permitted to give legal advice. In addition, many questions require detailed research in the library and are not within the scope of this service.

Email

Patrons may contact the Law Library reference desk by email at referencelaw@nccu.edu. The reference email is checked daily, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays and vacation periods. You may expect a reply to your question within one business day of the time a librarian receives it.

Texting

Patrons may ask reference questions via text at 919-648-0247. Texts will be answered during reference hours.  Texts received after hours will be answered the following business day. In addition, many questions require detailed research in the library. Patrons may be asked to schedule an appointment with a reference librarian for assistance with extensive questions.  Your provider’s standard text messaging rates may apply.
